Do you have any tips for keeping makeup from smudging. I've tried the "smudge-proof", "stay-in-place" makeups and even those end up on my clothes. I've heard that lightly misting the face with hairspray can help with this. Is this true?
The best advice I can give you is to avoid any sprays on your skin (face especially) if they are not intended for that purpose, especially if they are not multi-purpose holistic remedies (i.e. tea tree oil) because you could have a bad reaction. It may help it stay, but not sure it wouldn't irritate your skin.
Revlon has color stay products that work pretty well. Invest in waterproof products if possible (there's even water proof eye liner these days) and pay attention to the process in which you are applying the makeup--to increase longevity. For example, clean your face well before application (try to avoid oily products) and then apply foundation.
Using a lubricating facial moisturizer may feel good, but for this problem--avoiding it all together is best. Then loosely apply powder. This process will enable all the other makeup to grab on to something more--therefore, increasing staying power. Hope this helps!
